John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida announced the charges. Pensacola Man Sentenced for Federal Narcotics & Firearm Crimes 11/05/2026 07:00 AM EST Pensacola, Florida – Akeem Cornell Shaw, 39, of Pensacola, Florida, was sentenced to six and a half years in federal prison after previously pleading guilty to possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense, possession of firearms by a convicted felon, and possession of a short- barreled rifle. The sentence was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.  Gainesville Man Pleads Guilty to Dog Fighting Conspiracy 11/05/2026 07:00 AM EST Gainesville, Florida – Terry Lee, 43, of Gainesville, Florida, pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of Conspiracy to Violate the Animal Welfare Act. The plea was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. Tallahassee Man Pleads Guilty to Illegal Machine Gun Possession & Postal Crimes 11/05/2026 07:00 AM EST Tallahassee, Florida – Yasir Jaimon Za’Quis Hawkins, 20, of Tallahassee, Florida, pleaded guilty in federal court to illegal possession of a machine gun, possession of Postal Service key, and possession of stolen mail. The plea was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.  Aneth Man Found Guilty of Child Sex Crimes Sentenced to 16 Years in Prison for Possessing Sexually Explicit Photos of Children 11/05/2026 07:00 AM EST MOAB, Utah – An Aneth man, with a criminal history of possessing child pornography, was sentenced to 16 years’ imprisonment. In April 2026, Johnston Blackhorse, 43, of Aneth, Utah, was convicted by a jury after he received and possessed child pornography, also known as child sex abuse material (CSAM). At the time of the offense, Blackhorse was already on supervised release for a 2015 conviction of possession of child pornography.
