Trinidad Chambliss opens up on facing LSU and Lane Kiffin

THIBODAUX, La. — The Ole Miss schedule features a neutral-site opener against Louisville and four matchups with SEC teams that won at least 10 games last year, two of which are on the road. But quarterback Trinidad Chambliss had an obvious answer when asked if there’s a game he’s looking forward to the most.

“Louisiana State University,” Chambliss said at the Manning Passing Academy.

Ole Miss’ home game Sept. 19 against LSU may be the most highly anticipated college football game of the year. Animosity grew between the longtime rivals when Lane Kiffin left to be LSU’s head coach before the College Football Playoff last season, and it has festered ever since.

Chambliss said, “There’s no bad blood between me and Kiff.” He added that he felt grateful Kiffin gave him a chance to play at Ole Miss when he transferred from Division II Ferris State. Chambliss also acknowledged the toxicity around the situation has reached the team.

Chambliss went deeper on just how heated things have gotten between the two programs, and he didn't hold back when addressing Kiffin's recent Vanity Fair comments about recruiting at Ole Miss. He also opened up about the pressure of playing in a game this big, and what he's learned about keeping it in perspective. Wilson Alexander has the full report below.
