| Seeking public comments on WIPO Treaty on Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge Written submissions and a hybrid hearing on April 29 offer opportunity to comment The USPTO seeks input from all interested parties about the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Treaty on Intellectual Property, Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge that was adopted by WIPO member states on May 24, 2024. In particular, the USPTO seeks comments on whether the United States should sign and implement the treaty and any impacts of taking such actions. Detailed information on the treaty and how to submit a comment is available in a Federal Register Notice publishing January 17. Written comments must be received by March 18. The full text of the treaty can be found on the WIPO website. The USPTO will also hold a hybrid hearing on this matter at agency headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia, on April 29.
