MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that James Timothy Mathis, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, age 41 and a felon, entered a guilty plea to one count of Felon in Possession of Firearm. The Indictment alleged that on March 4, 2023, Mathis, who had been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year, was found in possession of a .38 SPL caliber Smith & Wesson Bodyguard Airweight revolver.  Individuals previously convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year are prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
