The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona is seeking an exceptional, experienced civil rights attorney to join our team as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) in the Civil Division. The Civil Rights AUSA position is a career-defining role that demands passion, commitment, and an unwavering dedication to justice. The attorney who fills this position may represent the United States in various civil affirmative civil rights enforcement litigation actions, including housing and fair lending, ADA enforcement, the Civil Rights of Institutionalized Persons Act, voting rights, servicemembers' rights, pattern and practice investigations, and employment discrimination. This role isn't about just upholding the law - it's about standing up for what's right.
Collaboration is key to our success. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, making impactful decisions and ensuring justice for all. But the impact of this role goes beyond litigation: you'll also be an ambassador for justice in our community, work closely with agency partners, and participate in outreach events throughout the District to promote civil rights.
This position is in our Phoenix office.Our office values work-life balance and professional development. We offer up to two days of telework per week and other flexible schedule options. In addition to a robust in-house training program, we regularly send employees to relevant conferences and the National Advocacy Center.
