The following GAIN reports were released on May 30, 2023. _______   China: Three New Foods and Their Applicable Food Safety Standards Published On May 10, 2023, the People's Republic of China (PRC) National Health Commission (NHC) released a Catalog of new food ingredients, new varieties for food additives, and new food related products which were announced during 2009 to 2021 with the applicable corresponding food safety standards. This report provides an unofficial translation of the Catalogue and corresponding requirements.   Ukraine: Sugar Annual MY2023/24 sugar production is forecast at 1.5 MMT, a 13 percent increase compared to the previous MY estimate, as Ukraine returns to pre-war (CY2021) production areas of sugar beets. A hike in global prices could stimulate Ukraine's exports for MY2023/24 to recoup losses caused by Russia's full-scale invasion and a drop in domestic consumption caused by refugee outflow.
