According to the indictment, court filings, and statements made in Court, the defendant was the commander of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) 30th Front, a group that operated in southwestern Colombia. The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon before United States Magistrate Judge Vera M. Scanlon.
