The federal government announced details for a $160 million USD program over three years to help farmers adopt beneficial management practices that store carbon and reduce greenhouse gas emissions through cover cropping, nitrogen management, and rotational grazing practices. Direct payments to farmers will be provided through delivery partners like producer associations, Indigenous groups, non-governmental organizations, and provincial Crown corporations.
This report contains an unofficial translation of the Peoples Republic of China's (PRC) Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for Pesticides in Food. The standard consolidates the previous version of the standard and the updates that have been made since it was last issued in 2019. It lists over 10,000 MRLs of 548 pesticides in several hundred food categories.
In Marketing Year (MY) 2021, FAS Warsaw forecasts Poland's total cherry production at 213,000 metric tons (MT), consisting of 165,000 MT of sour cherries and 48,000 MT of sweet cherries. Post forecasts that the processing industry will use about 200,000 MT of cherries, ten percent more than in 2020. Also in MY 2021, Post forecasts Polish peach production at 8,600 MT, a 1.2 percent increase over last year's production.
