Nearly a dozen Republican senators and senators-elect on Saturday demanded a commission to audit the results of the 2020 election, and said they would otherwise object to the Electoral College votes that declared President-elect Joe Biden the winner. The group of lawmakers — which included Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee — released a statement calling on Congress to "conduct an emergency 10-day audit of the election returns in the disputed states" before Jan. 6, when both chambers are scheduled to meet. |
