| | February 1, 2020 Stocks suffered their worst one-day loss in almost three months on Monday, due to fears of a full-blown global coronavirus epidemic, but bulls held their ground well amid the global risk-off shift later on. The mostly positive earnings reports from the tech sector supported the broader market all week long. Even though Facebook (FB) published disappointing numbers, Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), and especially Amazon (AMZN) blew away expectations in the fourth quarter. The Fed left its benchmark interest rate unchanged, but since Chairman Jerome Powell was surprisingly cautious concerning the U.S. consumer and the coronavirus-threat, the Central Bank added to the downward pressure on Treasury yields. --GORILLATRADES PORTFOLIO UPDATE-- The GorillaTrades portfolio had its first very negative session in quite sometime on Friday. However, of the two GorillaPicks that stopped out on Friday, only one resulted in a loss; Illumina (ILMN). The other (Edwards Lifesciences- EW) resulted in a very slight profit on the remaining 25% of the position, in which the initial 75% was previously sold for an 8% profit. Of the current GorillaPicks that fell, most lost 1%-2% or less, but two did fall more than 3%-4: Apple (AAPL) and Visa (V) lost 4.4% each. Among the winners, GCI Liberty (GLIBA) rose more than 3%, while Amazon (AMZN) and Deckers Outdoors (DECK) EXPLODED 7.4% and 7.7%, respectively, with the latter easily achieving its first target in the process for a +9.5% profit! Thus, even after a terribly weak session in the overall stock market, an impressive 82 of the 95 confirmed GorillaPicks in the GorillaTrades portfolio still hold unrealized gains, including more than half (51) with double-digit gains. This number is deceiving because more than half of the confirmed GorillaPicks that are lower are down by just 2.3% or less. Nine different GorillaPicks hold 20%-26% unrealized gains each. Five more hold 32%-38% gains each. Another three hold 41%-46% gains each. Leidos (LDOS) and Aircastle (AYR) hold 53% and 57% gains, respectively. PulteGroup (PHM) and Entergy (ETR) hold 61% and 62% gains, respectively, while NextEra Energy (NEE) leads the portfolio with a whopping 69% gain! In addition, after Deckers Outdoor (DECK) achieved its first target for a quick +9.5% profit on Friday, 77 of the GorillaPicks have now achieved their first target! --CEO WEEKLY VIDEO Q&A-- Topic: Weekly Strongest List Stay in touch!
