Buenos dias, amigos! It’s me, Brigid Kennedy, back with another edition of the Wednesday Write-Up, brought to you by the makers of SI:CYMI.
We’re getting closer and closer to September with each passing day, which is equal parts thrilling and terrifying to me. I didn’t go to the pool once this summer! But at least the ninth month of the year always feels like somewhat of a new beginning to me, which is probably a residual effect of 17 years of schooling … maybe I’ll lean into that sensation over the coming weeks and make some resolutions for the rest of my 2026. If you feel the same and still can’t separate the arrival of fall from the scent of No. 2 pencils, please join me in this spiritual venture.

Hayden Panettiere Could Do It All |
And finally, a plug on my own behalf.
Actress Hayden Panettiere died Sunday, at just 36 years old. I will always remember the way she mesmerized me (and probably other young girls, too) in sporty films like Remember the Titans, Ice Princess and, of course, the Bring It On sequel. You can read my full tribute at the link below.
