Good morning, everyone! SI’s Tom Dierberger here, filling in for my good pals Brigid and Kristen. I’d like to imagine I’m rolling in for this relief appearance on a bullpen cart with “What You Know” blaring as my walk-up song. O.K., a quick stretch, a few warm-up pitches and here we go …
Forward this to someone who is ready to watch some dingers later tonight.

WINNER WINNER, JANNIK SINNER: The Italian defended his Wimbledon title by defeating Alexander Zverev in a nearly four-hour final on Sunday. Over in the women’s bracket, Linda Nosková won her first major on Saturday by taking down Karolína Muchová in three sets. To wrap it all up, Jon Wertheim wrote up his 50 final thoughts from Wimbledon.
AND THEN THERE WERE FOUR: Just four teams remain in the World Cup. In an action-packed weekend on the pitch, France, Spain, England and Argentina won their quarterfinal matchups to advance to the World Cup semifinals. That’s right, a France-Argentina rematch from the 2022 World Cup is still on the table. To get you set for the semis, Sports Illustrated re-ranked the four remaining teams, a list that has the defending champs at No. 4.
NEW DIGS: So … why did the Hornets trade LaMelo Ball? Charlotte general manager Jeff Peterson answered that exact question this weekend. Also, Ja Morant is apparently very into nature now. SI’s Liam McKeone went into detail on why the Trail Blazers were the ideal landing spot for Morant.
BACKYARDIGANS: Pablo Sanchez and the rest of the Backyard Sports gang are back in Playground Productions’ new Backyard Baseball video game. My review of the game quickly turned into a reminder at how bad I am at video games. I’ve got to get back to the fundamentals.

Here’s what caught our attention online yesterday …
SKO BUFFS? CHILL, BUFFS. In one of the wildest clips I’ve seen in quite some time, a buffalo at Yellowstone Park ran down a tourist and sent him flying about eight feet into the air. When I first read the caption, I thought the tourist would’ve been doing something annoying like trying to snag a selfie with a giant buffalo. But he … was kind of minding his own business? And that buffalo was not having it. I’m not sure what this means for Deion Sanders and the Colorado football team. Maybe a bowl appearance?
STILL GOT IT: Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield hit the dougie this weekend at the American Century Championship over near Lake Tahoe. It suddenly feels like 2014 again.

Home Run Derby—8 p.m. ET; Netflix
Eight sluggers—Junior Caminero, Jac Caglianone, Ben Rice, Willson Contreras, Jordan Walker, Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber and Munetaka Murakami—will battle for MLB’s home run crown tonight at Citizens Bank Park. Schwarber will try to put on a show in front of his home fans in Philadelphia.
Sparks vs. Dream | Lynx vs. Mercury—6 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET; Peacock
The WNBA’s doubleheader Monday night tips off with a matchup that will be without a few stars, as Kelsey Plum and Cameron Brink are out for Los Angeles (10-11), and Angel Reese is questionable for the Dream (13-10). In the nightcap, the first-place Lynx (17-6) hope to keep their hot season rolling with a clash against the Mercury (8-16).
