Former Maui Police Officer Sentenced to 65 Months for Unjustified Tasing 02/27/2026 07:00 AM EST HONOLULU – United States Attorney Ken Sorenson announced that Carlos Frate, 41, a former Maui Police Department officer, was sentenced today to 65 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release for using unreasonable force against an arrestee.
