House passes spending deal to end partial shutdown, securing back pay for furloughed feds

The House passed a spending package to end a short-term government shutdown and fund the vast majority of the federal government through the end of the fiscal year.
The spending deal, which includes a two-week continuing resolution for the Department of Homeland Security, was passed by the Senate last Friday. The package now heads to President Donald Trump's desk.
