Don't trade the Netflix numbers blindly

Hi there,

Netflix (NFLX) is making the rounds again—this time because of "max pain" levels and aggressive price targets being discussed.

When you hear a specific number like "NFLX could be at [Price] by [Date]," it feels actionable.

But here is the truth:

A target isn't a strategy. Structure is.

Metrics like "max pain" can be useful as context—but they don't tell you:

  • When price is actually ready to move.
  • What options strategy fits the current volatility.
  • How to define risk properly.
  • Whether the market is confirming the idea at all.

That is why so many traders get chopped up trying to trade "levels" instead of trading a repeatable process.

This is exactly what I teach inside the Cooper Options Trading Institute (COTI).

You will learn how to take information like options positioning and price targets—and turn it into a structured plan with:

  • Timing rules and confirmation.
  • Strategy selection based on volatility.
  • Disciplined risk management.
  • Repeatable decision-making you can apply to any ticker.

Netflix is just one example. The bigger edge is learning how to trade options with structure—so you aren't relying on forecasts.

Good information is everywhere. A repeatable process is rare.

See you inside,
Ian Cooper
