| Assignment & Certified Copy Center and Production Updates For those who were unable to attend a recent USPTO Hour hosted by the Office of the Chief Administration Officer (OCAO), the session included a discussion of the core functions of the Assignment Center, an overview of the Certified Copy Center, and a review of resources that are available to the public. We received several questions during the session regarding backlog and pendency. Addressing these issues remains a top priority for the agency. To combat delays and improve overall production efficiency, we are taking the following steps: - Actively hiring production staff which will more than double our current capacity in both certified copies and assignments
- Incorporating overtime and other incentives to increase production
- Altering staff workloads to provide enhanced support of production
- Collaborating with our colleagues across USPTO to find additional resources
- Evaluating new technologies to accelerate delivery of production systems
