Mexican Man Sentenced for Falsely Claiming U.S. Citizenship in Passport Application 07/30/2025 08:00 AM EDT German Madrigal, a Mexican national, was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison following his conviction at trial for falsely claiming that he was a U.S. citizen in an application for a U.S. passport. Mendez-Bamaca entered a guilty plea on April 21, 2025. MEXICAN MAN CHARGED FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM IN GULF BREEZE 07/29/2025 08:00 AM EDT PENSACOLA, FLORIDA – Teodoro Rodriguez-Alvarez, 34, of the country of Mexico, has been charged in federal court with Possession of a Firearm by an Illegal Alien. Honduran National Pleads Guilty To Aggravated Identity Theft 07/29/2025 08:00 AM EDT Tampa, Florida – United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announces that Elmer Modesto Rodriguez Amador (41, Honduras) today pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft. Amador faces a penalty of two years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set. Guatemalan National Sentenced To 19 Years In Federal Prison For Dealing Methamphetamine And Cocaine 07/29/2025 08:00 AM EDT Orlando, Florida – U.S. District Judge Wendy W. Berger today sentenced Augusto Rene Reyes-Gonzalez (37, Orlando), a/k/a "Zorro," to 19 years and 7 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine and illegal reentry after prior deportation. Reyes-Gonzalez pleaded guilty to illegal reentry on April 18, 2025. Three days later, on the first day of trial, he pleaded guilty to the remaining charges. On May 21, 2025, co-conspirator Calos Grijalva-Garcia was sentenced to 18 months and co-conspirator Brandon Charod Smith was sentenced to 21 years and 10 months. Multi-Time Convicted Burglar Sentenced To Prison For Illegally Reentering The United States 07/29/2025 08:00 AM EDT Fort Myers, Florida – U.S. District Judge Sheri Polster Chappell has sentenced Luis Miguel Alvizures (33, Guatemala) to two years in federal prison—the statutory maximum sentence—for illegally reentering the United States following deportation. Alvizures pleaded guilty on May 7, 2025.
