Why Reganomics Won’t Work Today

You see, Trump's new Treasury Secretary pick, Scott Bessent, is optimistic.  He thinks we can "grow our way out" of our $37 trillion national debt. It's bold, even nostalgic—a throwback to Reaganomics in the 1980s.  Back then, every $1 in debt generated $3 in growth. But here's the problem: times have changed. Today, $1 of debt barely produces $0.83 of GDP growth. And with a 137% Debt-to-GDP ratio, we owe 37% more than the entire U.S. economy produces annually. This level of debt is unprecedented.  Even if Bessent succeeds, the cost of growth will spiral higher, and the transition will be painful. Smart investors know what's coming. That's why big names like Warren Buffett are pulling back from growth stocks and holding massive cash reserves.  They're preparing for turbulence. The question is: are you prepared?
