If you're newer to practicing before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), gain an inside perspective by attending LEAP to Chambers at the USPTO's Southwest Regional Outreach Office in Dallas. This event will take place in-person on January 30 from 2-4 p.m. CT.
LEAP is the Legal Experience and Advancement Program, created to help less-experienced practitioners gain standup courtroom opportunities in PTAB ex parte appeal and America Invents Act trial proceedings. LEAP also offers free legal training in oral advocacy skills.
LEAP to Chambers provides LEAP-eligible practitioners (LEAPers) an insider's perspective on practicing before the PTAB. LEAPers will visit the Southwest Regional Outreach Office for a PTAB judge-guided tour of the PTAB's facilities. They will also receive oral and written advocacy tips from PTAB judges.
Preference will be given to LEAP-eligible attorneys and agents who have not participated in prior LEAP events.
Apply by January 23 to participate. Space is limited to facilitate small-group interaction. If selected, you will be notified before the event.
More information about LEAP is available on the USPTO LEAP webpage.
