Buy or Wait? Why the Major Indices, Mag7 Are Still Facing Major Resistance

Why the Major Indices, Mag7 Are Still Facing Major Resistance  Stocks are mostly flat ahead of Tuesday’s open, and the big question facing us right now should we be waiting for a pullback, or should we buy right now? If we look at the bigger trendline, the S&P 500 (SPY) didn’t break above it after a strong open before petering out on Monday. And the market is not likely to go higher until we break this level.  That’s why I said people should avoid going aggressively long Monday when we knew a nice pop was coming at the open.  The Magnificent Seven (MAGS) is in the exact same boat, trading just below its trendline. So we’re facing some major resistance right now… The market did hit a one-week high Monday, but that’s nothing and those kind of moves can fade very, very quickly.  We have some important data coming today with the JOLTS and ISM Services Index numbers coming at 10 a.m. ET — I would not put on any positions until after these fairly important reports.  The long bond (TLT), meanwhile, is breaking down, which will continue putting pressure on the market. I have been a traditional stock trader with little to none on options trading.  Your protrader setup is great and I am just starting to get comfortable with all the screens in Think or Swim. I already have three monitors going ,lol. Today's VIP session helped me see your rules for trading and that was an excellent example to show lulu and walk through your thinking process. Thank you for that! Overall I am comfortable with your process of picking a stock. (Aline alerts were very helpful to learning), today's session on when to buy was a great fit for me on the decision process when to pull trigger. I am still trying to solidify the option chain process and selecting the right delta, strike, and date. If you would cover that in detail or if there is a video on it please let me know. I believe once I see your theory behind each I will be comfortable doing it myself but currently I am hesitant and think I am missing opportunities and paying more than I should in some cases.
