U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that a federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging Christopher Porter, 37, of Angola, NY, with two counts of theft of mail and six counts of delay of mail by a postal employee. The charges carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that Raymond Brooks, 25, of Buffalo, NY, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. to possession of child pornography by an individual with a prior sex offense conviction, and cyberstalking, which carry a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison, a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that Torrence Dyck, 51, of Rochester, NY, who was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, 500 grams or more of cocaine and possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon, was sentenced to serve 150 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci, Jr.

Two men, one from Orange County and the other from Texas, were sentenced today to lengthy prison terms for using the darknet and encrypted messaging applications to sell more than 120,000 fentanyl-laced pills and other drugs to more than 1,000 customers across the country, causing several fatal overdoses in the process.

DENVER – Jareh Sebastian Dalke, 32, of Colorado Springs, was sentenced today to 262 months in prison for attempted espionage in connections with his efforts to transmit classified National Defense Information (NDI) to an agent of the Russian Federation.

The Justice Department announced today that Iraj Shambayati, a landlord who owns and manages over 45 residential properties in and around Savannah, Georgia, has agreed to pay $600,000 to resolve allegations that he violated the Fair Housing Act (FHA) by sexually harassing and retaliating against his female tenants for over 15 years.
