President Biden and Vice President Harris are devoting historic and vitally needed resources to unlocking opportunity for millions of Americans, and have pushed for a historic $20 billion investment in high-poverty Title I schools. We're addressing our national teacher shortage, investing in HBCUs, upgrading public schools, and more. ➡️ Tackling student debt. President Biden and Vice President Harris have secured the largest increases to the Pell Grant program in a decade, fixed programs like Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and created a new income-driven repayment plan that will cut undergraduate loan payments in half and bring monthly payments to zero for low-income borrowers. They've also implemented a plan in which over 800,000 student loan borrowers who have been repaying their loans for 20 years or more will see $39 billion of their loans discharged. ➡️ Countering extremism in the classroom. While extremists all over the country have targeted LGBTQ+ students and families and are working to block students from learning our country's full history, Team Biden-Harris is committed to doing everything in their power to protect all students.
