| National Breastfeeding Month This August, we celebrate National Breastfeeding Month through our Power to Pump! Day of Action on August 1, 2023! The enactment of the PUMP Act in December 2022 extended critical worker protections to millions more workers. The U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division (WHD) is proud to support these new workplace rights for countless teachers, nurses, home care workers, farm workers, truck and taxi drivers, managers and other professionals who now have greater protections and peace of mind. The PUMP Act ensures that almost every nursing worker now has the right to break time and a private space to express breast milk for their nursing child. It's through our work with partners like you that we are able to reach key communities and ensure workers across the nation are equipped with the Power to Pump! This August, we are calling on our partners to share important resources and ensure that workers and employers have the information they need – and to stay informed on upcoming activities. Below you'll find our industry-specific engagement plan, shareable content, and educational resources that will support outreach efforts and increase worker awareness. - Join us for the Power to Pump!
