The latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey news release has been posted on the BLS website at https://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/jolts.pdf and also archived at https://www.bls.gov/news.release/archives/jolts_05022023.pdf. Highlights are below. March job openings decrease; layoffs and discharges increase 05/02/2023 The number of job openings decreased to 9.6 million on the last business day of March. The number of hires was little changed at 6.1 million. Total separations and quits changed little at 5.9 million and 3.9 million, respectively; layoffs and discharges increased to 1.8 million.
