The following GAIN reports were released on February 24, 2023. _______     Brazil: Poultry and Products Semi-annual Brazil`s economy is still recovering from the negative impacts of the pandemic on its GDP growth, employment, and most sectors of the economy. For 2023, the Brazilian Central Bank (BCB) forecasts GDP to grow 0.76 percent and 1.5 percent in 2024. Consumption will benefit from social spending in 2023. Producers have resorted to exports to benefit from the devalued Real, and compensate costs associated with animal feed in production. For 2023, the outlook for the poultry sector's production and trade is positive, and Post anticipates expansion, mainly due to the global demand increase.   Canada: Canada Cancels Certain Lambda-Cyhalothrin Uses In Effect April 2023 Canada announced that the domestic use of lambda-cyhalothrin on any crops or commodities for feed will be canceled in April 2023. Additional crops will also see uses canceled due to concerns on risks to human health. Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for lambda-cyhalothrin will be revised for numerous food commodities and these new MRLs will take effect in April 2024. MRL revisions will see lambda-cyhalothrin MRLs reduced for nearly 50 animal, horticultural, and field crop commodities to the limit of quantification of enforcement of 0.01 parts per million (ppm). These MRLs apply both domestically and on any imports of these commodities into Canada.   Thailand: Rice Price - Weekly Rice export prices declined 2-5 percent due mainly to the weakening of the Thai baht.     For more information, or for an archive of all FAS GAIN reports, please visit gain.fas.usda.gov/.
