As Chief of the Litigation Unit and a Deputy Chief of the Fraud Section, the incumbent:

  • Assists and supports the Fraud Section Chief, Principal Deputy Chief, Senior Deputy Chief, and all Deputy Chiefs assigned to head the respective litigating Units in national and international law enforcement and prosecutorial efforts to combat white-collar crime;
  • Supervises the Unit's trial attorneys and staff; 
  • Works with Deputy Chiefs and attorneys in each of the Fraud Section's three litigating units—the Health Care Fraud Unit, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Unit, and the Market Integrity and Major Frauds Unit—to assist and provide advice in connection with trials, including trial preparation and strategy;
  • Provides advice to attorneys in each of the Fraud Section's three litigating units on legal issues, including by conducting legal research, drafting memoranda, or editing other attorneys' work product; and
  • Oversees the Fraud Section's dedicated appellate attorney staff, who draft appellate briefs, motions, and other pleadings and present oral argument in the Courts of Appeals in Fraud Section matters.
