USAO Western District of Wisconsin
Madison, WI
Madison, Wisconsin

Application Deadline: March 15, 2022

The United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Wisconsin is looking for a highly-qualified and experienced prosecutor to fill a full-time position as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in its Criminal Division.

The AUSA hired for this position will prosecute a broad array of federal crimes.  While AUSAs typically develop an area of expertise and practice with an emphasis in that area, new AUSAs are expected to prosecute all federal crimes including offenses involving drugs, firearms, child exploitation, computer crimes, human trafficking, and white collar crimes (e.g., tax crimes and bank and investment fraud). AUSAs write their own District and Appellate Court briefs and strong writing skills are required.

This is a temporary appointment NOT-TO-EXCEED (NTE) 12 months. This position may be extended or made permanent without further competition.

Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. In addition, continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
