Trump was involved in 'criminal conspiracy' to overturn 2020 election, Jan. 6 committee argues

The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol suggests that former President Donald Trump and allied lawyer John Eastman hatched a "corrupt scheme" to obstruct the 2020 election vote count, a new court filing says. "The Select Committee also has a good-faith basis for concluding that the President and members of his Campaign engaged in a criminal conspiracy to defraud the United States," the legal brief says.
