My Favorite New Type of Trade

Joseph To say things are super volatile in the world is clearly an understatement.  Russia and Ukraine are now at the center of world news.  And so are the complexities of trading and the financial markets. So, my answer in navigating it all right now?  One thing: Eliminate the excess.  Bruce Lee had this logic. He said, “Success is about elimination, not addition”.  I do better when I have fewer options, in a defined situation like trading.  Especially with something external happening, like with Russia and Ukraine. My heart goes out to the people there and who have loved ones in Ukraine. At times like these, traders need to remember that the stock market keeps on going. So I’m still going to talk about all things trading. Back to eliminating the excess. My college mentor put it this way: If you write your thesis about the entire Divine Comedy by Dante, you won’t write a page.  If you write about one of the books of the Divine Comedy, you’ll write a little more.  One Chapter: Even more. He then had me write a thesis about one word.  I thought it was impossible, but I realized something.  You’ll get deeper into it and find more to write about through elimination.  The same goes for trading.  I’ve recently started trading ONLY in the premarket session.  I get up early and I’m trading the stock market before it even opens.  And it works well for me. Here’s what the premarket session looks like:  Stocks tend to trend neatly in the premarket. There aren’t a lot of yahoos out there trading as in: It’s more focused traders.  It focuses my attention for a defined period of time: 1 ½ hours of trading and I’m done when the stock market opens.  I’m trading only the stocks that are moving at that time of day.  In premarket session: A smaller number of stocks moving.  I actually had a film crew come into my house and we went live with a premarket trade  >> Watch What Happened << I have a webinar when the stock market opens, so I have to be done trading. And then I take a nap.  And cuddle my new rescue pup. And do whatever the hell else I want because I don’t have to babysit open trades.  It works extremely well for me. Now, you can only trade stocks and NOT options in the premarket session.  And this is a good thing.
