ANALYSIS: In speech, Biden sought mantle of free world leader against Russia as Trump equivocates
During his first State of the Union address, President Joe Biden highlighted how the Western world "stayed united" against Vladimir Putin. The one notable exception, writes NBC News' Jonathan Allen in an analysis, is former President Donald Trump, who praised the Russian leader as a "genius" days before the invasion. Trump complained that his remarks were misinterpreted, but wherever he stands, it is not with Biden's anti-Putin legion.
