Russia accuses U.S. of fomenting war as Biden warns of 'swift and severe consequences' if Ukraine is invaded
Russia forcefully denied at a United Nations Security Council meeting Monday that it aims to invade Ukraine, accusing the United States of whipping up tensions in an attempt to foment war. "You want it to happen. You're waiting for it to happen, as if you want to make your words become a reality," Russia's ambassador said. The remarks came as the U.S. and allies confronted Russia over its military buildup on Ukraine's borders, with President Joe Biden warning Moscow would face "swift and severe consequences" if it invades its neighbor.
