Sports: What to read and watch

I keep dancing on my own (with the Boston Red Sox). Plus the W.N.B.A. finals.

What to Read This Weekend

Kevin Plawecki's teammates once rolled their eyes at his music choices. Now they're all singing along.Boston Red Sox

I'm in the corner

Watching you kiss her

Oh oh oh

I'm right over here

Why can't you see me?

Oh oh oh

I'm giving it my all

But I'm not the guy you're taking home

Ooh ooh ooh

I keep dancing on my own (I keep dancing on my own)

What to Watch This Weekend

All times are Eastern.

Basketball

Unexpectedly, the No. 5 seed (Phoenix Mercury) and No. 6 seed (Chicago Sky) are meeting in the W.N.B.A. finals. The teams have been trading blows so far, led by Candace Parker and Courtney Vandersloot of the Sky and Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi of the Mercury. Game 4 of a potential five-game series is this weekend (Sunday, 3 p.m., ESPN).

Baseball

The League Championship Series get underway: In the N.L., the Dodgers, survivors of an epic series against the Giants, meet the Braves (Game 1, Saturday, 8:07 p.m., TBS; Game 2 Sunday, 7:37 p.m., TBS). In the A.L., the Red Sox face the Astros (Game 2, Saturday, 4:20 p.m., Fox).

Football

Los Angeles Chargers at Baltimore Ravens "is a broadcaster's dream," Emmanuel Morgan writes. "Two exciting young quarterbacks who've led frantic winning rallies in recent games in a battle for who gets to drive the conference with Kansas City abdicating. Justin Herbert ranks fourth in the N.F.L. in passing yards (1,576), with Lamar Jackson on his heels in fifth (1,519). With the teams so evenly matched, this one should come down to the fine points." (Sunday, 1 p.m., CBS.)

No. 1 Georgia, suddenly in pole position for a first national title since 1980, faces an undefeated No. 11 Kentucky, but is a 22-point favorite nonetheless (Saturday, 3:30 p.m., CBS).

Soccer

Newcastle is much in the news after being purchased by megabucks Saudi Arabian interests. They haven't started spending any of that new wealth yet, and for now are in a relegation fight. They host Spurs this weekend (Sunday, 11:30 a.m., NBCSN).
