OLA is seeking a DOJ attorney with a national security background who performs well in a fast-paced, highly professional environment. The attorney advisor will work under the supervision of the Assistant Attorney General and will be responsible for:
- Coordinating between the Department of Justice and the Congress on issues relating to national security.
- Communicating frequently with congressional staff about the Department's interests in legislation and other congressional matters relating to national security.
- Keeping Department officials apprised of the current status and outlook for congressional action on matters of interest to the Department relating to national security.
- Assuring that the Department's views on issues relating to national security are articulated to Congress in a timely and effective way.
- Developing written views on issues relating to national security based upon input from Department components and the ability to present those views to congressional staff in order to advance the Department's mission, protect the Department's equities, and promote a constructive relationship with the Congress.
