According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is known for being incredibly reliable when it comes to tech industry news and leaks, the new iPhone 13 will be able to make phone calls and send text messages without cell service.
To make that happen, the iPhone 13 will reportedly support low earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication connectivity. This will allow the phone to connect to a satellite to make calls and send texts, even without 4G or 5G coverage.
SpaceX currently has the most LEO satellites in orbit, leading one to believe that Elon Musk's company and Apple will need to work together to make this plan happen. But Kuo said another tech company is Apple's choice for a collaboration.
Which company would most likely make the LEO partnership happen? And what else do you need to know about this potentially groundbreaking development? Image source: MacRumors
