| The following GAIN reports were released on June 30, 2021. _______ The FAIRS Annual Country Report maintains the baseline information for Bangladesh as it relates to all food for human and animal consumption. In addition to an overview of the Government of Bangladesh's (GoB's) regulatory infrastructure and import control policies, this report includes FAS Dhaka's assessment of laws and requirements for food and agricultural products imposed on imports. This report is not meant to be a catalogue of all additive and pesticide regulations for all products nor an attempt to list all the GoB food laws. This report outlines the Bangladesh government's required documents of the United States in order to facilitate the importation of U.S. food and agricultural products. The 2016 changes to nutrition labelling requirements come into force in December 2021, with enforcement discretion extended to December 2023. Other regulatory initiatives (like Front of Package Labeling) continue to be on hold. Delayed enforcement was extended for Safe Food for Canadians Regulations requirements that came into force in July 2020 for the manufactured food sector. USMCA certification of origin requires the certifier (importer, exporter, or producer) to cover nine mandated minimum data elements, replacing the old NAFTA certificate of origin. This report highlights certification requirements for food and agricultural products exported to Canada and supplements the FAIRS Country Report CA2021-0038. U.S. food and agricultural products have continued to prove popular in the New Zealand market, and in 2020 the value of these products was US$ 575 million, US$ 407 million of which were consumer-oriented products. The New Zealand grocery and food retail sector has seen resiliency during COVID-19 and continued strong demand. New Zealand imports from the United States include packaged food, pet food, grapes, pork, cheese, oranges, beer, and wine. FAS/Wellington expects demand to remain strong for consumer food products both manufactured in-country and imported. The FAS Seoul June 2021 Grain and Feed update covers changes to the Korean rice situation since the March 2021 Grain and Feed Annual report. MY 2021/22 rice production, consumption, and imports are unchanged from FAS Seoul's initial forecast, which included a projected 8 percent increase in Korean rice production this year. Auctions under the 2021 TRQ for U.S. rice have been slower this year due to COVID-19 related challenges, with 31 percent of the TRQ auctioned as of June 2021. Vietnam's total retail sales were estimated at approximately $172 billion, up 6.8 percent over 2019, with food and beverage accounting for approximately 30 percent. Effective control of COVID-19 has allowed the retail sector to overcome short-term challenges and constraints while strong economic growth, increasing foreign investment, benefits from free trade agreements, a growing middle class with higher disposable incomes, and rapid urbanization continue to drive long-term sustainable growth. Vietnam's modern retail food channels have seen expansions, exits, and mergers and acquisitions in 2020 and 2021. While e-commerce and food delivery services continue to enjoy sustainable growth, sales in traditional retail food channels have declined due to changes in consumer shopping habits as a result of COVID-19.
