He would become the first player to do so. The G League Ignite team is designed to offer elite prospects an alternative to playing in college or overseas before becoming eligible for the N.B.A. draft. Henderson is 17 years old. |
"You know how every kid has their own path?" Henderson said. "My main goal was just to get to the N.B.A. and be there for a very long time. The fact that I have an opportunity to go there and I'm one step away from it, it's just huge. And I took that opportunity." |

The European season in many big soccer countries comes to an end this weekend, with a lot on the line. |
In Spain, Atlético Madrid goes for its first title since 2014, 2 points up on Real Madrid. Atlético can clinch with a win at Valladolid (Saturday, noon, BeIn). |
In France, Lille is 1 point up on mighty PSG, winner of seven of the last eight titles. Lille plays at Angers, while PSG plays at Brest (Sunday, 3 p.m., BeIn). |
In England, Manchester City has clinched the title, so the attention is on Liverpool, which holds a goal difference edge over Leicester for the last Champions League spot (Sunday, 11 a.m., Liverpool-Crystal Palace, NBC; Leicester-Spurs, NBCSN). |
In Italy, Napoli is 1 point ahead of Juventus for the last Champions League place (Sunday, 2:45 p.m., ESPN+). |
The second major of the year, from Kiawah Island, S.C. Keegan Bradley, Brooks Koepka and the defending champion Collin Morikawa are among those who could be in contention (Final round, Sunday, 1 p.m., CBS). |
Eight playoff series tip off this weekend, providing quadruple-headers both Saturday and Sunday. If you watch just one game, the best bet might be Game 1 of the Phoenix Suns against the Los Angeles Lakers. Chris Paul drove the Suns to a No. 2 seed, but it's the No. 7 Lakers who are favored, despite needing to win a play-in game to get in (Sunday, 3:30 p.m., ABC). |
The playoffs continue, and many are closely watching the series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens, the first between the rivals since 1979. The Canadiens took Game 1; Game 2 is this weekend (Saturday, 7 p.m., CNBC). |
A busy weekend also includes the always picturesque Monaco Grand Prix (Sunday, 9 a.m., ESPN2) and the final of the Champions Cup, the rugby equivalent of the Champions League, with La Rochelle taking on Toulouse (Saturday, 11:45 a.m., NBC). |
