BREAKING: Texas executes man who killed his great-aunt, despite his family's pleas. It's the state's first execution in 10 months. 

Quintin Jones was put to death by lethal injection Wednesday after both Gov. Greg Abbott and the courts denied his and his family's plea for clemency. Jones, who says he turned his life around in prison, was found guilty of fatally beating his great-aunt in 1999 with a baseball bat and stealing $30 to buy drugs.
