Read More Search continues for missing UC Santa Cruz student who vanished in December Dane Elkins, 21, a UC Santa Cruz student, was last known to be in the area of Castaic, California, around 8:20 p.m. on December 21, 2020. His car was found abandoned with a flat tire. His wallet and cell phone were located inside, but there was no sign of Dane. Family says he had been distressed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating. Read More Three decades later, murder of North Carolina mother remains unsolved Beverly "Jaye" Potter Mintz was a 23-year-old mother of two when she was stabbed to death in her home in Leland, North Carolina on February 23, 1987. Her 2-year-old son was home at the time, but he was not injured. There are persons of interest, but Jaye's case remains unsolved. The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
