How one Texas storm exposed an energy grid unprepared for climate change

The devastating winter storm that has knocked out power in much of Texas has exposed how the U.S. may be woefully unprepared to absorb steep climate-related spikes in electricity demands.

The power outage wasn't the fault of green energy sources, but the future of the grid will depend on developing economical ways to store power from renewable energy sources like gigantic batteries, which can supply the large amounts of power needed when extreme weather events strike.
