| December 31, 2020 Future of Work Podcast The Partnership on Employment & Accessible Technology released an episode of its Future of Work podcast on "Building Neurodiverse Talent Pools." During the podcast, Jhillika Kumar, Founder and CEO of Mentra, discusses creating meaningful career opportunities for the neurodiverse community. Guideposts for Success The Center for Advancing Policy on Employment for Youth published "Guideposts for Success: Framework for the Future," a fact sheet for policymakers and administrators outlining ways to provide employment opportunities and supports and services for education that can help youth and young adults with disabilities achieve independent living and financial self-sufficiency. EEOC COVID-19 Guidance The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) updated "What You Should Know About COVID-19 and the ADA, the Rehabilitation Act, and Other EEO Laws." This technical assistance question and answer document provides guidance regarding COVID-19 and disability employment laws. Topics addressed include medical exams and information, reasonable accommodations, and vaccinations. State Approaches to Disability-Inclusive Telework The Council of State Governments (CSG), in collaboration with the State Exchange on Employment & Disability (SEED), released "Disability-Inclusive Telework for States: State Approaches to Increasing Access & Inclusion," an issue brief offering guidance for developing and implementing inclusive telework policies and programs for state agencies. Also, CSG, SEED, and the U.S. Conference of Mayors hosted a webinar titled "Telework: Adapting to the COVID-19 Economy." Participants discussed opportunities and challenges around the transition to telework and highlighted strategies that state and local governments and the private sector can use to accommodate employees with disabilities. |
