EXCLUSIVE: 911 system in U.S. 'at a breaking point,' ambulance group says

Private EMS services in urban and rural centers across the country received $350 million in Covid-19 relief funds in April. But those companies said that money, which was comparable to the amount dentists received in federal aid, ran out within weeks.

The head of one company said he may lose employees soon. That could mean answering fewer calls, too.
