BREAKING: Markey holds off Kennedy in Massachusetts Senate race

Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts fended off a primary challenge from Rep. Joe Kennedy III in a race that divided Democrats.

Markey, who co-authored the Green New Deal with Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, was backed by progressives, while Kennedy, a member of the state's most powerful political dynasty, was endorsed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other House leaders, as well as some key labor unions.
