President Donald Trump has homed in on his chief line of attack after last week's Republican convention — casting Joe Biden as the "Trojan horse for the radical left" who would promote lawlessness, "abolish" the suburbs and crash stock markets, writes NBC News' David Wasserman. Biden has so far polled spectacularly well in the suburbs, thanks to his strength among college-educated white voters. But he's also running well among whites without college degrees, a constituency that is more fragile against the backdrop of civil unrest. It's in those places where Trump's onslaught of attacks, including falsely accusing Biden of wanting to "defund the police," stand the best chance of resonating. |
