Assistant United States Attorney 08/24/2020 10:28 AM EDT USAO Eastern District of Virginia Civil Division Alexandria, Virginia Announcement #: 20-EDVA-10892118-AUSA Application Deadline: September 8, 2020 An appointment with the U.S. Attorney's Office offers unique and challenging experiences for the highly motivated attorney; an opportunity to work on their own caseload and appear in court.  Working in the Civil Division, the Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) will primarily focus on enforcing the ADA to protect the rights of individuals with disabilities in the Eastern District of Virginia.  The AUSA may also enforce other civil rights statutes. The AUSA will be responsible for handling matters from the investigative stage through settlement and/or litigation. The AUSA may also engage in outreach and training activities. This is a TERM appointment which will be funded for one year from the start date of employment.  However, in the event that additional funding is received, this position may be extended, or made permanent, without further competition.
