| Thank you, Ivanka, for your visionary leadership of both the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board and the National Council of the American Worker. Thank you for bringing both groups together today. All of you being here at the White House is a testament to your dedication to the American workforce. We must also commend the Advisory Board for calling an extraordinary meeting in mid-May to address the abrupt change and tremendous challenges facing American workers due to the pandemic. 
Thank you to all the members of ACCRES for volunteering your valuable time to this public service. Your expertise and guidance at this important juncture in the commercial space industry will drive future prosperity and wellbeing of all Americans. It sounds like the discussions you have had during the first two days have been extremely productive. Thank you, also, to the commitment of the esteemed members of Congress who have already participated in this meeting. In their leadership roles in Congress, Senator Cruz, and Representatives Horn and Babin are key to the growth of the U.S. commercial space industry.
Thank you to the member companies from the Wyoming Valley and the "Diamond City." Your workers, your families, and your communities are the lifeblood of our nation. It is also a special pleasure to have Congressman Dan Meuser join us today. I am pleased to be in the city that gave us the scriptwriter of "Citizen Kane"; the renowned quantum physicist David Bohm; and the founder of Planters Peanuts. It is extremely gratifying to see that Governor Wolf is authorizing tomorrow's "Green Phase" of reopening your region's economy.
It is great to be here with all of you and to be on the ground to witness your industrial response to the COVID-19 crisis. It's also wonderful to be here with Governor McMaster. You have been so instrumental in this state remaining an industrial powerhouse. All Americans are thankful of this state's continued investment and commitment to textile production. I am also grateful for the swift action Fibertex and your workforce took to respond to the COVID-19 emergency. So far year-to-date, this high-tech factory has produced 25,000 tons of nonwoven spunlace material for disinfectant wipes. This is no small feat, and I congratulate each of you on what you accomplished here in Gray Court.
Thank you, Scott, for the kind introduction, and thank you for hosting us at this impressive new facility. When we met a few years ago, you insisted that the recreational sportfishing industry was a big and important driver of GDP throughout the country. And you were right. Prior to the onslaught of COVID-19, the marine recreational fishing industry employed nearly half a million workers. And I'm certain we will return to that level of employment in short order.
