Mar 01, 2020 BREAKING: Pete Buttigieg dropping out of Democratic presidential race Pete Buttigieg, the 38-year-old former South Bend, Indiana, mayor and naval intelligence officer, is dropping out of the Democratic presidential race, according to two campaign aides. Buttigieg had sought to appeal to centrist Democrats, but failed to gain momentum after one strong second-place finish in the Iowa caucuses.
