Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo met today with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha, Qatar.  Secretary Pompeo and Minister Al Thani noted the strong partnership between Qatar and the United States, particularly the strong trade relationship which has grown by 35 percent in the past year. The Secretary and the Minister also discussed bilateral issues, including countering the malign influence of the Iranian regime.  The Secretary thanked the Minister for Qatar's support for bringing peace to Afghanistan.  The Secretary and the Minister also discussed a range of regional and bilateral topics.
