re: what I’m asking of you

We can prepare for the tough road ahead by coming together early to support our eventual Democratic nominee for president.
Join us.
The following message is a part of our 2020 Presidential Candidate Series. For more information, see below.

Steven, I'm running for president because I believe in the idea of America. Not the inequality and division we see today, but the common vision of America we have for our children and grandchildren.

There's no question that these last few years have been tough. But what the most difficult moments in my life have taught me is that our challenges make us stronger. It's my hope that our party's eventual nominee for president -- whether it's me or one of my fellow candidates -- will use the lessons we've learned to bring us together and restore the soul of this nation.

That can't happen without a strong and fully funded Democratic Party. The Democratic Unity Fund represents our best shot at achieving this goal. The fund is a promise that our nominee for president and candidates for seats all the way down the ticket will have the backing of our party at its absolute strongest. But we need your help to get there.

Steven: Will you split a $10 donation between my campaign and the DNC's Democratic Unity Fund today?

I'm eager to fix the damage that Donald Trump has done here at home and restore our standing on the world stage, and you and I both know we'll need a Democrat in the White House to do that. But it won't be easy. The Trump campaign and the RNC raised over $400 million last year -- a staggering amount of money that will be used against me or one of my fellow candidates in the general.

We can prepare for that tough general election fight right now by coming together as a party and committing our support to our eventual nominee for president and Democrats nationwide when they'll need it most. This primary will be long and expensive, and we need to do everything we can to make sure that our Democratic candidates aren't tapped out before the general election even begins.

I'm in this fight for the working people who make America so remarkable, and I hope I get the chance to continue that work as your nominee. But whether it's me or someone else, our party's candidates are counting on you to step up now.

Make a $10 contribution to my campaign and the Democratic Unity Fund today. Your support will help build the strong, unified DNC that our future nominee for president and Democrats everywhere will need to fight hard and win.

Let's do this together.

Joe

Sending fundraising emails like this one is a component of our Democratic candidates' agreement with the DNC to share access to the DNC's database of voter records. As a part of our agreement, every candidate who signs on sends the same number of emails to the DNC's list, with proceeds going to a combination of the DNC and the candidate's campaign. If you're wondering why you're not hearing from your preferred candidate, we may have already sent emails on their behalf or have plans to do so in the future, or they may not have signed on yet.

The DNC is committed to running a fair and transparent primary. This organization is powered by you, and we'd love to hear your ideas. Just reply to this email to send any comments, criticisms, or feedback. Our community management team reads every message from supporters like you. Thanks for supporting our party!
