BREAKING: Pompeo steps up attacks on NPR reporter, but doesn't deny her account

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday attacked an NPR correspondent who reported the day before that he had berated and cursed at her following questioning over Ukraine.

"She lied to me," Pompeo said in a statement on Saturday that called reporter Mary Louise Kelly's conduct "shameful." But Pompeo did not challenge her claims that he used the "F word" and shouted at her. Pompeo insisted their conversation was supposed to be off the record, which Kelly disputes, and he appeared to take another shot at her on Saturday when he suggested in his statement that she had misidentified Bangladesh for Ukraine on a map.
