The open of the 3rd quarter was 6245.75. The open of September was 6478.75, the open of the week was 6483.75, and this market opened last night at 6532.25. Everything is pointed higher.   Keep in mind at the end of this week ES futures, and most equity index futures will be rolling to the December contract. There is currently a roughly 55 point premium between the September and December contracts. That premium tends to indicate a strong market. Secretary Hegseth made clear that the United States does not seek conflict with China nor is it pursuing regime change or strangulation of the PRC. At the same time, however, he forthrightly relayed that the U.S. has vital interests in the Asia-Pacific, the priority theater, and will resolutely protect those interests. Overall, the Secretary and Minister exchanged views in a candid and constructive manner. They agreed to further discussions.
